Just a day after the Rotterdam finals, the tour is already moving on. The CUPRA Germany Premier Padel P2 started on Sunday with qualifying at the CASTELLO in Düsseldorf, and the main draws are now set. As expected, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia are the top seeds in the men's draw. Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea lead the women's field. The main draw starts on Tuesday, 6 October, and the finals are on Sunday, 11 October.

A 39-point margin for the fourth seed

The closest call in the draw was for the fourth men's seed. According to Padel Addict, Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz got it back by just 39 ranking points over Martín Di Nenno and Francisco Navarro. That matters because the top four seeds get a first-round bye straight into the round of 16.

Stupaczuk and Sanz arrive in good form. In Rotterdam they reached their first Premier Padel final as a pair, where they lost to Coello and Tapia. They now open against either the German wildcards Lindmeyer and Wunner or a qualifier. If the seeds hold, they could meet Di Nenno and Navarro in the quarter-finals and Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto in the semi-finals.

The other seeds are Galán/Chingotto at No. 2 and Leandro Augsburger and Juan Lebrón at No. 3. Coello and Tapia have just defended their Rotterdam title, and they start against Diestro and Sintes or a qualifier.

Revenge on the cards in Düsseldorf

Coello and Tapia have unfinished business at this venue. In the first German P2 in September 2025, Galán and Chingotto beat the world No. 1s 7-6, 6-2 in the final. It was the second time that season the Spanish-Argentine pair had beaten them.

The 2025 women's final was even more memorable. Triay and Brea beat Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in three hours and twenty minutes. Padel Addict reported it as the second-longest final in Premier Padel history. The organisers say more than 5,000 spectators came to that first finals weekend.

Women's draw: Sánchez and Ustero chase a third straight title

The women's seeds are Triay/Brea (1), Paula Josemaría and Beatriz González (2), Andrea Ustero and Ariana Sánchez (3) and Martina Calvo and Claudia Fernández (4). Ustero and Sánchez beat Josemaría and González in the Rotterdam final after winning the Paris Major, so they come to Germany on a two-title run.

The draw is not easy for them. They could face Alejandra Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro in the quarter-finals. Josemaría and González may have to get past Marina Guinart and Alejandra Alonso, a pair Padel Addict picked out as a threat. Triay and Brea open against Jana Montes and Marta Barrera or a qualifier.

There is some home interest too. Lena Pluemer and Katharina Hering received wildcards into the women's main draw, and Lindmeyer and Wunner have one in the men's.

Schedule and what comes next

Qualifying runs until Tuesday. The opening main-draw rounds are from 6 to 8 October, the round of 16 and quarter-finals on 8 and 9 October, and the semi-finals and finals on 10 and 11 October. The men's draw has 28 pairs and the women's has 24. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster, from €14.50 for the opening days and €39.50 for finals weekend.

Düsseldorf is the first of three tour stops in October. Milan P1 follows from 12 to 18 October, and the month ends with the Kuwait Major from 26 to 31 October. For Stupaczuk and Sanz, defending a 39-point lead over Di Nenno and Navarro starts on Wednesday.
