The countdown to Britain's first-ever Premier Padel P1 reaches its final hours on Saturday as qualifying draws set. Starting Sunday, August 2, the London P1 at Olympia — which sold its opening ticket allocation in days after going on general sale at £41 — becomes a reality, with twelve British players confirmed as wildcard recipients by the LTA for the historic tournament.

Main Draw Wildcards: Who Is Representing Britain at Olympia

The LTA has granted main draw wildcard places to four pairs in the men's draw and one in the women's draw. Britain's No.1 Christian Medina Murphy will partner Spaniard Alberto García Jiménez, while the established partnership of Louie Harris (GB No.2) and Alex Loughlan (GB No.3) — who have built a strong FIP circuit record together over the past eighteen months — also receive main draw spots. Alfonso Patacho and Chris Salisbury complete the British quartet in the men's main draw at Olympia.

In the women's draw, Britain's top two players will compete together: Aimee Gibson and Catherine Rose receive a joint main draw wildcard. Gibson, who had been sidelined for five months through injury, was candid about the significance: "It means the world. I'm super grateful to the LTA that, even though I've been injured for five months, they've still put me forward for the main draw." Her return at Britain's biggest-ever padel event will be closely followed throughout the opening days of competition at Olympia.

Five further British players receive qualifying wildcards. In the men's qualifying draw, promising junior Ben Phillips teams with Spain-based Jamie Lobo Wordsworth, while Cameron Dollimore and Theo Garton form a second British qualifying pair. On the women's side, British No.3 Tia Norton partners Belgium's Helena Wyckaert in the qualifying draw. Qualifying takes place on Sunday, August 2 and Monday, August 3, before the main draw opens on Wednesday, August 4.

Against the British wildcards, the world's elite will gather at Olympia's Grand Hall in West Kensington. The men's draw is expected to include world No.1s Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello — should they complete their title defence at the Pretoria P1 on Sunday — alongside second-ranked pair Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, and Juan Lebrón. The women's field is led by world No.1s Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, with Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría among the confirmed top pairs.

The London P1 carries a total prize pool of €479,068, with ranking points on offer equivalent to a Masters 1000-level tennis tournament. For the twelve British wildcards competing on home soil, the event carries significance far beyond the numbers — it marks the first time Premier Padel's elite field has competed in the United Kingdom.
