Main Draw Opens at Advantage Padel Club
The FIP Gold San Luis 2026 moves into its main draw on Wednesday, August 19, at the Advantage Padel Club in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, after two days of qualifying rounds settled the final spots in each bracket. With 150 FIP ranking points and a total prize pool of €60,000 on offer, the tournament is one of the highest-value events on the regional circuit outside the Premier Padel P1 calendar — and the timing could not be sharper, sitting just ten days before the Madrid P1 qualifying phase begins at the Movistar Arena.
Both main draws feature 32 pairs each — 26 direct acceptances, four qualifiers and two wildcards — assembled from a field that stretches from world top-100 professionals to the best up-and-coming talent in the Americas. Nine of the men's entrants rank inside the global top 100; six do so on the women's side.
Ruiz and Dal Bianco Carry the Top Seed
Alex Ruiz and Franco Dal Bianco enter as men's top seeds, a pairing that already holds a FIP Gold title from earlier this season following their victory in Ponta Delgada, Portugal. Spain's Alex Chozas partners Argentina's Juani Rubini as the second seeds, and Alonso Rodríguez and Juani De Pascual complete the top three. The bracket is structured so none of those pairings meets before the quarterfinals, setting up high-quality clashes on Friday, August 21.
The draw also rewards depth over star power in the men's half: six pairs ranked outside the top 100 have earned direct acceptance slots through consistent results on the FIP circuit, making upsets a realistic prospect in the first and second rounds from today onwards.
Borrero and Polo Lead a Competitive Women's Field
On the women's side, Marta Borrero and Julia Polo hold the top seed. Borrero arrived in San Luis Potosí fresh from her runner-up finish at the FIP Gold in Shanghai earlier this season, while Polo has accumulated four CUPRA FIP Tour titles in 2026, establishing their pairing as arguably the form unit in the women's FIP Gold landscape right now. Third seeds Brittany Dubins of the United States and Mexico's Camila Ramme will have home-crowd backing; Ramme's presence in the draw has generated notable local anticipation.
Lucia Peralta is another player to track closely. She has appeared in six CUPRA FIP Tour finals across 2026 and taken three titles at Bronze level. San Luis Potosí represents her first FIP Gold main draw appearance since her run in Bali and an opportunity to step up a category.
Live Streaming and What Follows
All main draw matches from today onwards will be streamed live on the FIP YouTube channel, making the action accessible across the Americas and Europe free of charge. Quarterfinals are scheduled for Friday, August 21, with the finals closing the event on Saturday, August 22 — prize money runs to €3,750 per player for the winners of each draw.
San Luis Potosí is the first stop in a back-to-back FIP Gold sequence: Belgrade hosts the next edition the following week, meaning several players in Mexico will travel straight to Serbia after the final on Saturday. With Premier Padel Madrid P1 by Oysho qualifying starting August 29, the San Luis Gold marks the last major FIP circuit test before the circuit's flagship late-summer event reclaims the spotlight.
